Outerinfo virus




















Certain embedded files that are part of legitimate programs or specialized fix tools such as process. Such programs have legitimate uses in contexts where an authorized user or administrator has knowingly installed it.

These detections do not necessarily mean the file is malware or a bad program. It means it has the potential for being misused by others.

Anti-virus scanners cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert you or even automatically remove them. It may take several posts. Instructions posted for this user are customized for this user only. The tools used may cause damage if used on a computer with different infections. If you think you have similar problems, please post a HijackThis log at the top of this board to start a new forum topic. I have not posted this problem on any other forum. Before we start cleaning, we'll need to disable TeaTimer so it does not interfere with our tools.

Save it to your desktop. Save it as resetteatimer. Double click on resetteatimer. Since it will not be needed again, delete ResetTeaTimer. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.

If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.

Then click on the Scan button. The next screen will ask you to select the drives to scan. Leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and " Scan in progress " will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say " The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found ". Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.

Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found. Make sure that everything is checked , and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM. Please include a fresh HijackThis log as well. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1. Close HijackThis. If necessary, allow the scan to run overnight. Use a firewall to help prevent your PC's control being usurped by undesireables. There is a link to a good, free firewall in my signature. Run them all on a regular basis, following the maker's recommendations.

Install an anti-virus. There are some good, free AV's available today. Make sure that it is updated regularly and have it scan your system often. Check for Windows Updates. Microsoft regularly post updates for your systems safe running. Make sure to take advantage of this. Reboot when installed and return to make sure there are no others.

For XP users. After something like this it is a good idea to Flush the Restore Points and start fresh. To flush the XP system Restore Points.
