January 11, These high school exchange programs prepare young Americans to succeed in the 21st century global economy by developing their foreign language skills, increasing their cross-cultural understanding, strengthening their leadership capacity, and fostering new academic insights and ambitions.

The programs have no language prerequisites, except select Youth Ambassadors programs, and applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 18 when the program starts. The scholarship application will evaluate financial need and will not include an audition or portfolio component. To be eligible to apply, students must be entering 6 th — 12 th grade in fall , live in New York State, and select a New York State-based summer arts program including music, theatre, dance, creative writing, fine arts, design, and more.

If more applications are received than available funding, scholarships will be awarded based on the most financial need. No virtual or in-person NYSSSA program will be offered in summer because of several factors, including fiscal challenges and virtual format fatigue. Follow us:. Home Board of Regents News Index.
